Inspired by a quiet park in northwest Michigan, Bookish Botanicals captures a lush canopy of green sheltering two figures at ease beneath an expansive tree. Vibrant purple flowers ribbon through the grass adding a gentle pop of color beside the quiet concentration of a reader lost in a book. It evokes that effortless, slow-paced feeling of a summer afternoon outdoors—where the shade and the stillness invite you to linger just a little longer.

It's hard not to be inspired by nature. I'm always looking for that next scene to paint, noticing how a place makes me feel, looking at light and shadow, taking photos, and capturing that feeling on the canvas. And, of course, always seeing everything in full, vibrant color.
