Inspired by a black-and-white photograph of my mother as a young girl, On the Line reimagines a fleeting family moment in rich, full color. A little blonde girl in a bright red dress anchors the scene, framed by a soft distant treeline and clean laundry billowing gently in the backyard breeze. It carries a tender, nostalgic warmth—a sweet reminder of childhood afternoons when the world felt simple, safe, and wide open.
Details: 20H x 20W acrylic on canvas | 21H x 21W framed.
Frame: Handmade, custom solid maple floater frame finished with a hand-rubbed natural beeswax.
It's hard not to be inspired by nature. I'm always looking for that next scene to paint, noticing how a place makes me feel, looking at light and shadow, taking photos, and capturing that feeling on the canvas. And, of course, always seeing everything in full, vibrant color.
