Luminous washes of pink bleed across the paper in an open cluster of blooms, tangled in loose green foliage and grounded by cool blue shadows that give the petals depth. Raw spatters of watercolor break across the surface, keeping the flowers light and breathing. Paradise is that vivid, sunlit freshness of a garden caught in full bloom.
Details: 6H x 6W watercolor on watercolor paper mounted on cradled board.
It's hard not to be inspired by nature. I'm always looking for that next scene to paint, noticing how a place makes me feel, looking at light and shadow, taking photos, and capturing that feeling on the canvas. And, of course, always seeing everything in full, vibrant color.
