I've always loved Canada geese and almost never pass up the chance to grab photos when they're around. In Proper Gander, three of them cruise together through water translated into stylized patterns and graphic shapes of purples, blues, and quiet neutrals. It takes a classic, everyday moment on the water and gives it a fresh, bold rhythm while letting the calm confidence of the birds show through. It’s a playful nod to the simple beauty hiding in the wild encounters we cross paths with every day.

It's hard not to be inspired by nature. I'm always looking for that next scene to paint, noticing how a place makes me feel, looking at light and shadow, taking photos, and capturing that feeling on the canvas. And, of course, always seeing everything in full, vibrant color.
