Inspired by the quiet grounds of a Fredericksburg Battlefield where history settles into open, living ground. A majestic tree commands the foreground, rising above expansive swathes of grass and distant treelines. Rooted in Red holds a profound, layered serenity—inviting a steady moment of remembrance, gratitude, and reflection for the land beneath our feet and the peace carved from its past.

It's hard not to be inspired by nature. I'm always looking for that next scene to paint, noticing how a place makes me feel, looking at light and shadow, taking photos, and capturing that feeling on the canvas. And, of course, always seeing everything in full, vibrant color.
