Tiger Stripes comes straight out of that time of summer in Falls Church, Virginia when the tiger lilies completely take over the yard. Bright, fiery oranges go head-to-head with cool blues, with the lilies running the whole scene in front of a backyard sunroom and patio umbrella. It’s got that relaxed feel where you're just hanging outside with a cold drink, watching everyday nature get loud and show off right at home.
Details: 11H x 14W acrylic on cradled board | 12.25H x 15.25W framed.
Frame: Black acrylic floater frame.
It's hard not to be inspired by nature. I'm always looking for that next scene to paint, noticing how a place makes me feel, looking at light and shadow, taking photos, and capturing that feeling on the canvas. And, of course, always seeing everything in full, vibrant color.
