Inspired by a road trip through Kingston, Ontario and a highway sign honoring The Tragically Hip, Toujours Hip captures the energy of the Canadian landscape. A waterway winds through the scene under a vast sky toward a cluster of homes on the distant shore anchored by grasses in purples, pinks, and pops of yellow. It has that easy, nostalgic road-trip energy—like listening to the Hip as the water comes into view.

It's hard not to be inspired by nature. I'm always looking for that next scene to paint, noticing how a place makes me feel, looking at light and shadow, taking photos, and capturing that feeling on the canvas. And, of course, always seeing everything in full, vibrant color.
