Wrapped in an emerald green winter blanket, a striking black Clydesdale named Pride stands calm and grounded against the snow-covered slopes of Whitefish’s Big Mountain. Towering pines and the quiet geometry of a nearby chairlift frame this Montana scene, capturing the crisp, crystalline chill of winter. Walk the Line reflects that singular mountain stillness—where cold alpine air meets the warm, steady, and watchful presence of a gentle giant at home in the snow. I had the privilege of driving Pride alongside his brother Jamie, each over 2000 pounds, guiding the team and a sleigh full of passengers through the snow for evenings of magical sleigh ride dinners on the mountain.

It's hard not to be inspired by nature. I'm always looking for that next scene to paint, noticing how a place makes me feel, looking at light and shadow, taking photos, and capturing that feeling on the canvas. And, of course, always seeing everything in full, vibrant color.
