Layer after layer of torn, hand-painted tissue paper builds a rich collage that pulls you right to the riverbank, capturing the rough tumble of the Rappahannock River here in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Vivid magenta and gold grasses cut right through deep blues to track the water’s powerful, continuous hustle over the rocks. Winding Down locks in that pure reset you only get after a long afternoon spent sitting beside fast-moving water.

It's hard not to be inspired by nature. I'm always looking for that next scene to paint, noticing how a place makes me feel, looking at light and shadow, taking photos, and capturing that feeling on the canvas. And, of course, always seeing everything in full, vibrant color.
